Class Leader
Purpose of Ministry
Class leaders help create positive Christian experiences through building relationships with church members and nurturing them in all aspects of life. They do this by visiting, calling, listening, and praying for members. For additional information contact the Church Office.
Among the lay officials of the church, the Class Leader is one of the most important persons in the traditions of Methodism. The Class Leader prevents the member from being obscure or lost in the crowd. The Class Leader’s function is to track the members assigned to their class
Objectives
•Based on the charge to “go forth and disciple all nations” (Matt 28:19-20)
•Sustain one another in our discipleship as defined by John Wesley in 1742.
•“Christian living requires spiritual direction, which is provided more adequately by groups of covenanted Christians who make themselves accountable to each other than by single individuals to others.”
