LIVE SERVICE FAQ’s
Since, March 22, 2021, Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church has worshipped virtually. We praise God for the technology and resources which have enabled us to come together, even while we are apart.
As we prepare to resume in person worship, please know that Bethel’s leadership is committed to providing a spiritual, hospitable, and safe worship experience for all in attendance. Below, please find the answers to several frequently asked questions regarding in – person worship.
Do I have to register, what is the process?
ALL WORSHIPPERS MUST REGISTER to attend in – person worship. To register, please call the church office at (734) 663 – 3800. In order to ensure social distancing, we are limiting capacity to 60 people.
What time should I arrive?
We encourage all worshippers to arrive between 9:30 – 9:55 a.m.
Where and how do I enter?
Bethel has several entry points. On Sunday morning, all worshippers are asked to enter through the double doors on the John A Woods side, nearest the parking lot.
Everyone is REQUIRED to wear a mask upon entering the building. Please ensure that your mask covers BOTH your nose AND your mouth AT ALL TIMES.
Temperatures will be checked upon entering the building. As long as your temperature is 100.4 or under, you will be allowed to enter. In addition, all worshippers will be asked to answer three brief questions regarding Covid exposure and possible symptoms.
Where do I sit in the sanctuary?
The available seating in the sanctuary has been clearly labeled in order to maintain social distancing. You will be directed by an usher as where to sit.
What if I have to go to the restroom or have a medical emergency?
You may go to the restroom at any time during the service. If you have a medical emergency, please exit your row and go to the back of the church and an usher or member of the safety and security ministry will assist you.
What about “Church School”?
We will continue to hold Church School online at 9:00 a.m. via Zoom for adults; 12 noon for children and teens.
Will there be Children’s Church?
Children’s Church will resume at a date to be determined. However, children are welcome to worship in the sanctuary with their family.
We encourage worshippers to give via our online giving platforms. For those who are using envelopes, they are available in the pews and may be deposited in baskets at the rear of the sanctuary as you leave.
Dismissal After the Benediction
At the conclusion of service, you will be asked to be seated and the congregation will be dismissed by rows. While it will be tempting to hold conversations as you pass each other in the corridor, it is our prayer that you will acknowledge each other with a smile or a wave and move toward the assigned exit doors. If you chose to hold conversations, feel free to do so safely in the parking lot.
We hope this information has been helpful, however, if you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate in calling the church office at (734) 663 – 3800, or via email, email@example.com. We look forward to seeing you soon. God Bless.
